How to Make Bible Worksheets More Engaging for Kids

A worksheet is only boring when it asks a child to do something they could do without thinking. The fix is almost never more clip art — it is changing what the sheet asks for and when you hand it out.

Here are nine changes that reliably turn a dead sheet into a lively one.

1. Never Open the Lesson With the Sheet

If the paper hits the table before the story is told, the sheet becomes the lesson, and the lesson becomes paperwork. Read the passage first. Tell the story. Then hand out the sheet as the thing you do with what you just heard.

2. Use the Actual Words of the Passage
